Erik Johansson's Dra din egen väg (Go (or drag, rather) your own way).

What better way to spend a Sunday morning than to delve into the beauty of photography? Thanks to photo buff urke, I was just made aware of Swedish photographer Erik Johansson today – an extraordinary talent aged 23. Photographer may just be a tiny bit misleading, though, as Eriksson spends his days studying computer engineering, interaction design in Gothenburg.

His favourite appears to be manipulating objects and beings into the physically impossible, much like Dutch designer M.C. Escher’s improbable constructions. I also suspect that he’s under the influence of a certain Dalí.

You just have to admire the crispy quality of his original photos, though, even if they have undergone several rounds of Photoshop touch-up.

His work very much reminds me of the playfulness seen in a that of a Norwegian commercial photographer I know, whom, by the way, I will get back to in a later post.

In fact, the idea of posting a weekly Sunday photo and art post seems incredibly intriguing.

Meanwhile, please visit Erik Johansson’s site, Allt eller inget (all or nothing) for a closer look.

One Response to Mindblowing manipulations

Fy flate, så tøft! Jeg virkelig elsker og fascineres av slikt.
M.C. Escher’s konstruksjoner heter tribarer, så vidt jeg vet.

For mange år siden brukte jeg faktisk mang en sen nattetime på å tegne og male (akvarell) slike synsbedrag. Ren avkobling og terapi. ;)
