The location is superb. It was clean. It was not pristine because it’s old. The staff were really helpful and courteous. There is a fridge, two stove eyes, a coffee machine, an archaic microwave. The beds were comfy. The air was great. The wading fountain pool made our kids really excited. It’s open 24/7, but it was cold. The public balcony was a nice place to sit. I actually chose this place because the parking is free but it’s first come first serve so I was a bit nervous, but we had no problem parking. I asked about crime and was told “there is none.” That really seemed to be true. There are people who start conversations then ask for money. Oh...the water. So our room slept 6. (It has three full beds.) There was a sign that said the water heater is 30 gallons and to account for that. It is HOT hot. It’s be-careful-hot. So nobody emptied it. We had plenty. We would stay here again.

I was lucky to have my room avaliable eary and the check in process was easy. The staff was great all during my stay from the door security guys, to the check in hosts. Hotel is really nice looking, clean and comfortable. It's a little different setup from just a regular hotel, with separate buildings that some are all interconnected. There are some balconies you can also walk along. Room wasn't big, but it had what I needed, all except for a refridgerator which would have been nice. The toilet also took some time to fill up and sometimes would get stuck, something I forgot to mention during my stay as it wasn't a big deal. Though there was some odd dripping noise from somewhere in the walls, maybe a drain from the outside to remove water from the rain stroms? Again, nothing bad. Finally one of the stairwell doors exiting outside often wouldn't open or properly close. There are other ways to get to my room, but this was the quickest and rarely worked, but again, not a big deal. You are given a lot of soap, shampoo etc for the shower and sink. The TV in the room looks like a picture frame in the wall, so that was kind of cool looking. Also in the room was a safe. Pool was small, it's not really a pool one would swim in, but more just lounge in and it had a sitting shelf all around it so you could have your drinks and just sit in the pool easily enough. Location is in a popular well lighted street with several other places around that are open late. Meaning there is no issues with feeling unsafe returning back after midnight unlike some other areas in the French Quarter are. If I came back to NO, I'd probably opt to stay here again...

Let me start off by saying I am a Titanium Marriott Member, therefore I have stayed at various different Marriott hotels. The Moxy is very unique..has a very different vibe from other Marriott hotels but in a good way depending on what you’re looking for. I will say it is located in a great location that is walking distance to everything. I most certainly want to recognize the outstanding bartender Ted!! The customer service I received from this young man was superb. His personality & great conversation is what made my stay tremendous. He was very attentive, knowledgeable & professional. I admired his bartending techniques, attentiveness to all of his customers & suggestions on his favorite drinks (which I must add were absolutely delicious)! I also noticed how well he maintained cleanliness at his bar. Ted most definitely exceeded all of my expectations as a bartender!

Firstly the best thing about this hotel is the people - from the minute we arrived, they were welcoming and friendly. The concierge was so helpful in booking trips for us along with other staff who suggested restaurants, directions etc. We chose breakfast in the hotel on one day which was OK and so decided to have breakfast another day as we were leaving on a trip and it seemed the obvious option; turns out they don't do breakfasts everyday which was not well advertised - and a little strange!! Anyway one of the cleaners clearly saw our confusion so suggested ”Mothers” diner across the road which was brilliant actually - the best pancakes we had in our entire trip in the States. Likewise the bar tender at the bar/restaurant is excellent. The only downside was that the hotel itself is a little tired and could do with some refurbishment and updating. Our room was lovely in terms of size and the bed was really comfy but some of the furniture was a little tarnished, the carpet somewhat dirty and the walls could do with a paint. But other than that, a good stay.

I booked a stay here after a horrible experience at another property in the City. Rochelle was amazing at recognizing my needs and took care of me like family. Adam was always friendly and accommodating. Everyone I encountered at the Mercantile was warm and friendly this is a unique place full of what makes NOLA so special. The hotel is small and quiet, it's like stepping back in time to old jazz and warm smiles. It has a speak easy vibe but it's still modern. I highly recommend this property for a romantic getaway. The location is great for exploring, downtown and the French Quarter, there are plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby.

Good location not far from bourbon street only problem was that the weather knocked out the tv signal so no tv the entire stay unless you bought a $20 hbo movie.. Parking was a bit tricky because as soon as you pull up the parking garage door opens up for you. I was told parking was $25 but I guess to park inside the inviting garage is $45 which there were no clear signs posted with that information. $25 is for the outside non-lit lot next to the parking garage. Wish I knew that information prior to entering the parking garage. The nice thing about this hotel is that has balconies although they are in rough condition

I booked a suite for my daughter and new son in law to stay at for their honeymoon as well as a block of rooms for the wedding guest. This property took my breath away from the moment I walked in-it's very charming and beautiful. Some of our guest were enjoying sitting in the lobby area and mentioned to me how impressed they were with the hotel, the staff and the rooms which made me very proud to have chosen this hotel. Every staff member I saw welcomed me and were very friendly-even though I wasn't technically a guest-they were eager to be helpful. Also, the hotel is conveniently located and easy to get to and from anywhere in the city.

Stayed here for a conference, which was 2 short blocks from the hotel, plenty of local food choices, and the hop on hop off bus stops right across the street. Highlight was the Staff, super friendly, always called me by name as they welcomed me back to the hotel, they went out of my way to assist me. Same for housekeeping as it was HUMID and i was on 3 showers a day but always had plenty of towels. The lobby had a nice sitting area. The property could probably use a refresh, so while everything was clean, it was a little dated, but as a convention goer that wasn't an issue for me.

The hotel location is very convenient. You can go to the bus station within five minutes and go straight to the bus station. You can go to the airport for 2 dollars and take a bus around 20 minutes to the Mississippi Church and the French Quarter. Attention ⚠️ If I click on the church map provided by Ctrip.com, it will be taken to an old church far away and remote, instead of the church on the picture next to the Mississippi, I will be misled and pitted! !! Some areas are unsafe to avoid at night.

Nothing but praise for this hotel. Staff was STUPENDOUS! The room was exceptionally clean. Whoever designed the bathrooms, should've even fored though The configuration in trying to open the water....bend over and around the glass door trying not you fall into the toilette...ended up with a pulled muscle. If you're a senior, this will be an impossible task. Now, if you are staying on the side with the bar, we ...change to other side near the parking garage. The bar next door has no consideration for guests that need to sleep and get up early the next day. Music blaring until 3am for 4 nights. Isn't there a noise bylaw?

The room is large, the bathroom area is also large, it feels suitable for friends to go out together, there are two sinks, girls can make up at the same time~ There is no view from the window of the hotel, but the location is very good. You can go to Canal Street in a few minutes and buy a public transport ticket to go to all the attractions. Although there is no driving, the hotel has a parking lot with valet parking and car service. The highlight is the excellent service attitude. There is a travel consultation downstairs. You can make reservations for various special tours and restaurant reservations. There are many companies and lines that can pick up and drop off at the hotel entrance. The price is almost the same as that of the travel agency. The staff also Would recommend, for example, a few points to swamp crocodiles and more, in short, satisfied!

This is a strong, beautifully presented 4* Hotel, matched equally by it’s warm, welcoming and generous staff. Perfectly located, close to the many attractions of NOLA by foot, but far enough away from the noise and beautiful chaos. Rooms are excellent; I had seen a couple of recent negative reviews of the hotel’s AC cooling power; however it was fine, at an average of 70 in the middle of the Louisiana Summer !. The Hotel ‘Shop’ was very reasonably priced and the average price of the excellent cocktails served in the hotel bar were only around $15. I would stay here again without hesitation. Le Pavillon could push for a 5* if it took care of the ‘very minor things’ required of that rating; but she may be doing that already as the terrace, pool and gym were under going a refresh during my stay…but who has time for the gym when in New Orleans ?. Thanks Le Pavillon, I’ll see you again.

The reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because the bathroom needs a little upgrade. It looks nice but wall paper starting to fall apart and chrome starting to rust in places. That being said I would highly recommend this place. We were there for a wedding and everything was great. One thing I need to point out is according to some reviews there is a pool. There is NO pool at this hotel. This might have changed our minds about staying here in the summer as I honestly have never experienced this type of humidity. I need to give a huge shout out to the guy at the concierge. I apologize for not remembering his name but he greets everyone with a hello and how was your day and is really there to help you out in any way you can. (someone needs to give him a raise!) The bed was very comfortable. Thanks for a nice stay.

Well, this is my second time visiting Louisiana here on the West Bank. The first time I stayed at another military installation near Bell chase was compared to this hotel it is a five-star and it truly is a five-star to me. After checking into this hotel. I was given room And I was taken back by what I've seen the shower enamel or whatever the coating it was peeling upon the tub gross. They had of lack of basic recommend hotel supplies such as toilet paper tissue box. I went back to the young lady at the desk they accommodated me with another room and apologized. but the second room I went in once again this was unhappy. the telephone has a residue of some sort of goo rested on it. The air conditioning had what appears that some food fell on the vent from the previous guess. it wasn't cleaned off I have to go buy Clorox wipes and wipe down the entire area that I knew I was gonna be resting my items on. The plumbing in the showers did not drain properly so I had to cut the water off during my shower so I don't have to stand in dirty water as I clean myself. It just was a bad situation I am very unhappy. I can only guess that no one is walking behind and checking the cleaning staff's work. I never thought that I would have to continue to use my shower shoes in a hotel shower in my room. that's bad I'm not deployed and I'm not at war so why I'm using my shower shoes to take a shower. I hope that the management of this establishment step up and get more involved with the workers and caretakers of this property. without any SOP's or checks and balances customers will always get below standard quality living conditions and with this pandemic is going on you want to feel comfortable in a hotel room and know that it is cleaned. You should not have to second-guess where you staying.

The staff at this hotel made this our best hotel stay, ever. Ellie checked us in and was delightful. After an early morning flight we were able to get into our room early. We stayed in room #200 and it was great. Our room opened onto the pool area and there was a bar just steps away. The room had high ceilings, a sitting area and a refrigerator. It felt large. We received chocolate covered strawberries for our wedding anniversary. The food in the restaurant was very good. The room was very clean and housekeeping did an excellent job of refreshing our room. Location was great being in the French Quarter. Adjacent to the hotel is a wonderful restaurant, the Red Fish Grill. I can highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again next time I visit New Orleans.

As part of a 3-week road trip in the South of the United States, we will detail you point by point why this hotel was the worst of our stay: * Detestable welcome upon our arrival * Hotel very far from the center of New Orleans (1h by bus or 30 min by Uber) * Badly frequented neighborhood (**********s, dealers,...) * Equipment dilapidated and not in accordance with the photos and description of the ad * Swimming pool and gym closed (the Covid excuse does not hold, no barrier gesture is respected in the establishment and the staff does not wear a protective mask) * No breakfast, just a small bag to pick up in the morning with a minimalist snack in it * Noisy hotel and constant nightlife * Absence of cleaning in the rooms (accumulation of garbage cans over the nights) * Very poor value for money

We were on a trip with 4 other couples, all staying in various hotels around Canal/Bourbon street, and the property at Virgin Hotels in New Orleans, from the lobby/coffeshop, to the room, to the rooftop bar were far and away better than the other properties for around the same price. It was our Anniversary weekend, and there was a very nice gift from the hotel in our room upon arrival, and everything was perfect. For anyone looking to see the WWII museum on their stay, it was an easy 10 min. walk, and Bourbon Street was 15-20 minutes away (for those inclined). The pictures and reviews on this hotel are accurate and probably understated compared to the experience we just had there in May 2022!

If you want the experience of staying in the French Quarter and being a hop and a skip from Bourbon Street, then this is your place. Check in was a breeze, Mikey at the front desk displayed nothing but great customer service, along with Larry throughout our stay. Our room was exactly like the photos on Expedia. We had dinner at the Bombay Club the first night and the food was delish! However, if you do not want to take Bourbon Street to bed with you, this may not be your place..lol. We heard the partying, car horns blowing, trap music playing (love trap music) not to mention our room was right by the elevator and our twelve year old was with us (She thought she was going to partying too..lol) I always want the experience that I read about and see from traveling television shows, etc. Got the experience and next time we're in NOLA we will opt for a different experience. We enjoyed our stay! Merci Beaucoup

Overall our stay was very good. Hotel staff was friendly enough (I don’t really care about this much), bathrooms and rooms clean and well stocked (I do care about this), inside of the hotel is nicely laid out. My favorite aspect of the room is the bathroom layout. Valet was slow to bring the car around when we were departing, but that was more of an annoyance than a problem. There are 2 caveats: the breakfast was trash, I don’t think I can even call it breakfast (however, there are plenty of local restaurants around to try that it isn’t too much of a problem) and the water pressure in the shower, sink, and toilet in my room was not strong. Again, overall the stay was really good! Close proximity to everything downtown makes up for the few amenities that were lacking.

The location was perfect, so close to the French Quarter, great food, and the water. Great welcoming service started when we arrived in the rental car. Bell hop was very attentive and full of answers for our questions of the area. We visited the pool and it was nicely arranged with several seating options. We did not order food but it was available along with your choice of beverage. Service at the pool was very friendly. We were also visited at our room asking if we need any water, room service, or anything else. We did use the concierge for dinner suggestions, and the food was great! My family stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Fontenot recently while we were moving our college student to New Orleans. First off, the decor in the hotel lobby, rooms, and Peacock Room are stunning and different compared to the usual hotel decor. The food in Peacock Room is delicious (especially the chicken sandwich) and the drinks by Ellie are even better! Nikki and Michelle at the front desk welcomed us warmly and made sure that we were taken care of during our stay. They had great suggestions for us and made check in and our stay most hospitable. That said, Ray is the face and heart of the Kimpton Fontenot! Trying to shop for college dorm items and moving them into a hotel room and then again to the campus would have been significantly more challenging if it weren't for Ray. He was always there to greet us with a smile when we returned from our many trips to local stores and somehow fulled off a miracle with loading the van so we only had to make one trip. Ray knew the names of each person in our family and made us feel like family during our stay. The Kimpton Fontenot is now our go-to hotel in New Orleans every time we come back to visit!
