Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution is the fifth game in the ninja storm series of Naruto’s 3D fighting games. While it improves on the series in significant ways, unfortunately, it’s lacking in others. This addition of the storm series comes in with original artwork and 100 playable characters. With another big addition to the roster, some new gameplay mechanics and a few short films Rrevolution seemed to be deserving of its highly anticipated release.

While the overall feel of the game is improved, the new combat mechanics may feel a bit out of balance. There's a heavy focus on defensive combat, no doubt to add more depth and strategy to the game, but it starts to feel a bit unfair at times. The addition of “drive-types” allows players to pick a type of combat style for their ninjas but seems like an unfinished system.

The story is more of an exhibition than a story and leaves a lot to be desired. I can appreciate the attention to detail and the artwork but if you’relooking for a fluid Naruto PVP experience, I would go with Ninja storm 3 or 4.

The boss battles are more intense and feature more than just a lot of QTEs(those are still there though).

Wall-running, epic ninjutsu clashes and the cinematic intros to the versus battles were all taken out. Some may see this as a simpler, more streamlined experience, but most fans just wanted to run on walls. Can you really blame them?

Personally, this game is mostly nostalgia. The story mode gives you the freedom to roam in Konoha, but not much elseto do. The fetch quest can grow old for a more experienced gamer and the boss battles are mostly QTE (Quick-Time-Events). If this doesn't turn you away, then the amazing art and cinematic sequences are the closest we will get to relive the original Naruto anime, you'llprobably need a Sharingan yourself for that final boss though.
